Finance Manager

Job Summary

The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial health of the organization. This role involves a mix of high-level strategic planning and hands-on management of day-to-day fiscal operations. The ideal candidate will provide accurate financial analysis, ensure regulatory compliance, and develop data-driven strategies to support long-term business goals and be proficient in QuickBooks Enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

• Conduct variance analysis to compare actual results against budgeted projections.

• Develop complex financial models to support strategic initiatives, such as service line expansions or prospective business evaluations.

Budgeting & Forecasting

• Lead the annual budgeting process across all service lines.

• Maintain rolling forecasts to provide leadership with real-time insights into cash flow and revenue trends

• Analyze ongoing spending to identify cost-saving opportunities and operational efficiencies.

Operational Oversight

• Supervise accounting staff (AP/AR, Payroll, and Billing).

• Manage the monthly closing process to ensure timely and accurate reporting.

• Monitor internal controls to mitigate risk and ensure the integrity of financial data.

Strategy & Decision Support

• Provide financial narratives and data visualizations for executive leadership and board meetings.

• Perform Return on Investment (ROI) and Break-even analyses for new capital projects or equipment purchases.

• Partner with operational leaders to align financial targets with organizational mission and growth.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or Economics (MBA or CPA preferred).

Experience: 5+ years of experience in financial management or corporate accounting.

Technical Skills:

• Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, modeling) and QuickBooks Enterprise.

• Experience with ERP software and financial reporting tools.

Soft Skills:

• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data for non-financial stakeholders.

• High attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.

Preferred Attributes

• Experience in healthcare, including knowledge of industry-specific billing or grant management.

• Proven track record of improving financial processes or implementing new reporting systems.
